1. Ego, when removed from its instruments, loses its I-am-ness. It remains only “I” consciousness. That is a universal consciousness.

robert adams:

1.What does it mean to follow the I?

R: It means to abide in your Self. The I is your Self. It starts out as the ego but as you follow the I, it becomes your Self. And your Self has no existence. Therefore it becomes no-thing, emptiness, space. Like the blackboard, the chalkboard. Everything happens around it, on it, but it itself is not affected. That's what it means to follow the I. The I becomes your Self and you abide in your Self.

1. "If one enquires 'Who am I?' within the mind, the individual 'I' falls down abashed as soon as one reaches the Heart and immediately Reality manifests itself spontaneously as 'I-I'. Although it reveals itself as 'I' , it is not the ego but the Perfect Being, the Absolute

1.only I, the Absolute, prevail always." There is only one truth in the world, and that is that everything is unreal. I am the Unmanifested talking through the Manifest.

2.....".......Because of the instrument of the body, that feeling of consciousness is there and I, the Absolute, am not that." jan 11, 1981 maybe page39 link: Consciousness (selfdefinition.org)

3. "Everything happens out of our own Self. This consciousness is spontaneously felt in the Self only. This "I" is not an individual" page 65 link Consciousness (selfdefinition.org)

4. Maharaj: This may or may not be so. Even if it is, it is only so from the mind’s point of view, but in fact the entire universe (mahadakash) exists only in consciousness (chidakash), while I have my stand in the Absolute (paramakash). In pure being consciousness arises; in consciousness the world appears and disappears. All there is is me, all there is is mine. Before all beginnings, after all endings — I am. All has its being in me, in the ‘I am’, that shines in every living being. Even not-being is unthinkable without me. Whatever happens, I must be there to witness it

1. "The heart is now naked and pure, because there are no desires, no longings, no feelings; yet you are still there. Then the 'I', void of all impressions, has no bindings, no limits. It now experiences that state which is above mind, because the mind is no longer there. It experiences the Infinite Original State of Real 'I'-ness. This ego is called the Real Ego, and just as with the False Ego, Malcolm said, 'I am this body' — or I am this energy — or I am this mind; —here's the link: Meher Baba: Who Am I? 1. All I know of the world is the experience of seeing, hearing, tasting, touching and smelling. All these are made out of the knowing of them. I, Awareness, am that knowing. When I experience the so-called world, I'm just experiencing my Self.

1. somewhere in this video he says that the Atman is the I..this is a great meditation..

i found a random discourse

1. Turiya means beyond three. Turiya means beyond waking, dreaming and deep sleep state. Then you start imagining that beyond this something is there. Don’t get into that confusion. Whenever you speak of the word ‘I’, you are referring to Turiya only. When you speak of ‘I’, this ‘I’, has a changing component and unchanging component. The changing component of ‘I’ is related to body, mind and intellect. The unchanging component of ‘I’ is referring to Turiya only.

So, don’t get confused by terminologies. Whenever you speak of ‘I’, you are referring to Turiya only. Turiya is nothing but ‘I’. It is beyond time and space. That is your own experience. 30 years back, you will say “I was in Mysore” and now you say, “I am in Bangalore”. The ‘I’ has not changed. The body has changed. The mind has changed. The intellect has changed. The location has changed. So, there is the changing part of ‘I’ and the unchanging part of ‘I’. The unchanging part of ‘I’ is nothing but Turiya. This is not dependent on time. This is not dependent on place. This is not dependent on the body also. The body dies also, nothing happens to ‘I’. link---...>Mandukya Karika Shloka 10 – Light of the Self Foundation
