he thinks he's realized..i dont

the end of the awakening process has two parts ---nirvana and then nirvikalpa

so here is a story of a guys description of enlightenment and liberation..(that i dont see as complete)

.from my point of view..he reached *nirvana* (being aware of absolutely nothing or being aware of the void, which is considered an object )

but failed to realize the Self in what meher baba calles nirvikapla samadhi..or turiya...

after describing his experience of nirvana he sat down and wrote it out. he showed his guru and his guru James Swartz..gave him the impression that he was liberated..after his guru have him that impression, he has an *intellectual *ah ha* moment, not quite a real realization...

.a huge mistake!

(he kept returning to the nothingness, then tried to get back to his body, then returned to the nothingness.then.went back to his body, (he did this three times) it seems he couldnt completely let go of his body, attachment) then wrote what happened...he never actually went beyond the nothingness to realize the Self as Supreme Energy....)

here's his awakening story

*Almost immediately I was overwhelmed with the most astounding expansion of universal level energy blasting out of my root chakra. Within moments the voice spoke again, telling me "Do not dwell there. There's no need to indulge in that." - and I let it go. Boom! The explosion of energy this time came from the heart chakra, and again the voice advised me "Do not dwell there. There's no need to indulge in that." - and again I let it go. Kablloey! The third time the energy exploded from me, it was out of the crown chakra. And again the advice came "Do not dwell there. There's no need to indulge in that." - and again I did as instructed, brushing it aside. Next was an infinite nothing. Any effort or attempt to look in a direction for something, immediately caused a 'whoosh' as I projects some infinite distance, only to remain in nothingness. A second and third time, the same. Infinite movement, without moving. This time the voice said "This nothing is the centre of the light. It appears as black because there is nothing to reflect the light back."Then I wondered, "Where is the body?" I opened my eyes and amongst the hall/room of undistinguished forms, was the crossed legs and lower torso of this body. I closed my eyes and attended towards it.I made three attempts to reenter the body, in a fashion I can best describe as trying to force a balloon under water with both hands. Each time as I did, the energy flowing through the body was shocking and astoundingly beautiful. And each of three times I released the balloon and returned to the nothingness. Then I tried to question what this was. Each of three times, before I could even complete the question "Is this _____?" (Love, Bliss, Gratitude) - the projection of creation began to emerge from me in a great spiral. Each time I released the unfinished question and the projection vanished. At the end of all of this, I sat and did some writing and a couple days later spoke to my Vedanta teacher about it.When I described it to him (briefly), he replied by saying "You witnessed creation. Who or what witnessed this?"Of course by this time of studying the teachings for over a year, I 'knew' what the correct answer was, so I said "Awareness."To which he replied "When you know that's you, you're done."And it struck me like a bell! "Of course! All of this nothingness, energy, witnessing of creation etc - were all known to me just as the rest of this life has been known to me - because I indeed AM That formless and eternal, changeless awareness!!!"So you see, none of what was reached, experienced or witnessed can be me. And it is only though a correct interpretation of the events that one may gain knowledge of their nature. And that knowledge alone is the essence of liberation.
